This document is intended as an overview of New XINA, with basic things you should know.
New Terminology
Some XINA terms have changed, to be more accurate or to better support a variety of missions.

| Mnemonic | a named data channel or field | hk, housekeeping, or housekeeping field |
| Event | a time with a label; might be an Instant, which is just one moment in time, or it might be an Interval, with a start and end. | a category that includes TIDs, markers, messages, alerts, spectra, and more |
| Nominal Range | a green, yellow, or red value range for a particular mnemonic | a category that includes limits, expected values, and more |
| Notebook | a digital lab journal | journal |
